VISION

TELOF shall continue to pioneer and pump prime the Telecommunications Industry as an indispensable partner of the private sector in the development, operation and maintenance of a nationally and globally relevant and responsive state-of-the-art Telecommunications System that is capable of bringing to the rural areas the benefits of “IT” driven national socio-economic way of life.

MANDATES

1. Develop, formulate and recommend plans, policies, programs, standards, specifications and guidelines to provide telecommunications facilities, including telecommunications system for purposes of augmenting limited or inadequate existing private telecommunication services;

2. Provide telecommunications services in areas where no such services are available;

3. Assist the private sector engaged in telecommunication services;

4. Establish and prescribe rules and regulations for the operation and maintenance of telecommunications facilities in areas not adequately served by the private sector;

5. Administer and operate the Telecommunications Training Institute; and

6. Perform such other functions as may be provided by law.

FUNCTIONS

1. To provide telecommunications facilities, including telephone system for government offices;

2. Provision of communications services for purposes of augmenting limited or inadequate existing private communication services; and

3. Assist the private sector engaged in telecommunications services in providing and maintaining backbone communications network.

OUR MISSION

To make the existence of TELOF indispensable by redirecting its strategies towards the modernization of adequate, efficient, reliable and affordable telecommunications services particularly in the unserved and underserved areas, thereby expanding its ground of participation in an “Informatized” society.
